Lesson- Students will take a pre-assessment to prepare for the District Unit Assessment over The Sun and Solar System unit.

Advantages- The Google Forms assessment will allow teachers to gain a quick understanding of how well students have mastered the material in this unit. Along with multiply choice questions, I included short answers questions to allow for students to express their understanding of the material. This will provide me with a greater insight into how well students have mastered the material. Google Forms provides teachers with access to immediate data on how well students performed on the assessment. It will allow me to see the material that was mastered as well as the material that needs to be reviewed before the district assessment. Like I mentioned above, the data is immediate and thus is a time saver compared to hand grading paper assessments.
Disadvantages- Like with any assessment that includes multiply choice questions, it's impossible to tell if students guess while answering the question or if they are recalling the material that they've learned to answer. Including short answer questions, will provide more information as to what students have mastered.
