Advantages: When logging into EDPuzzle no email is needed for students to use the tool, which is important for elementary students. While watching the video students are being stopped 5 times throughout to check for understanding. While viewing, students are able to rewatch each section before answering the questions, if needed. The EDPuzzle website provides data for the teacher, once students have viewed the video. It shows which questions each student missed as well as how many times they watched and rewatched segments before answering the questions. This provides the teacher with information on who needs to be retaught certain aspects of the lesson. By having the data that EDpuzzle provides, teachers can also begin to differentiate lessons based off of which questions were missed and the effort that was put into answering the questions. Did the student rewatch segments of the video and still miss questions? Or did the student rush through the video without rewatching segments and miss questions?

Disadvantages: While no email is needed for students to use EDPuzzle, students still must register by typing in their name, creating a username, and a password. They must also use the code that was provided to them in order to have access to the video. Teachers may want to assign the same password to each student and have a common trend for their usernames. For example their first name as their username and the password being the teacher’s last name. I could see student’s forgetting their usernames and passwords if this wasn’t put into place.
